Ju Myung Hwang is a managing partner
of Hwang Mok Park P.C. Mr. Hwang represents
multinational corporate clients in Korea on complex
international litigation and arbitration matters.
His noteworthy experience includes
representing Johnson & Johnson against the Korean
Government; representing Coca Cola in trademark
infringement litigation; IBM in commercial
litigation against a local Korean company; Chevron
in a patent infringement case; Dow Chemical in Agent
Orange litigation; Deutsche Bank in tax litigation
before the Korean Supreme Court; Merck Sharp & Dohme
in Korean fair trade litigation; and multinationals
in labor disputes.
Mr. Hwang was also involved in the
creation of Korea’s Monopoly Regulation and Fair
Trade Act. Mr. Hwang sits on the boards of numerous
Korean companies. He served as the chairman for KT
(Korea Telecommunication).
Mr. Hwang has been engaged in
international and Korean arbitration both as an
arbitrator and counsel for the parties. He is
responsible for launching an Alternative Dispute
Resolution program for Seoul District Court.
He served as a Korean law expert
witness in connection with litigations in the United
States on numerous occasions.
